About the Fontaine-lès-Boulans Wind Farm
Located in Pas-de-Calais, the Fontaine-lès-Boulans wind farm consists of 5 wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 18 MW. Commissioned in 2025, it generates an annual output equivalent to the electricity consumption of 16,100* residents.
This project contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, with approximately 1,500* tonnes avoided each year, and plays a concrete role in advancing renewable energy development in France.
A Tree Giveaway to Support the Wind Farm’s Integration into the Landscape
As part of the commitments made during the development of the Helfaut wind farm, Boralex organized a tree giveaway for residents of the town and neighboring areas.
This initiative involved distributing trees and shrubs to help integrate the wind farm into the landscape and improve the quality of life for local residents.
A Project Rolled Out Across the Region
Initially focused on specific areas, the initiative was expanded to allow a large number of households to benefit from this program.
Participants were able to select various tree species suited to local conditions, thereby promoting sustainable planting.
An Approach That Supports Local Biodiversity
The plants offered—sourced from local suppliers and suited to the region—help strengthen biodiversity and encourage the planting of perennial species.
Through this initiative, Boralex reaffirms its commitment to developing projects that are in harmony with their environment, while maintaining close ties with the communities where it operates.
