As part of our New York solar portfolio, Boralex is seeking a Solar Facility Site Manager – Construction for its Fort Covington project.Reporting to the Director of Construction for North America, you will act as the owner’s representative on site. You will be responsible for executing the work, coordinating major contractors (BOP, substation, equipment suppliers), ensuring schedules are met, costs controlled, and quality assured.

This role will initially be hybrid, requiring occasional travel to Glens Falls, NY and Montreal, Canada. When works are occurring at the Fort Covington site, the expectation is that the Site Manager will be mobilized there on a full-time basis.As part of the project’s construction activities, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the execution of on-site construction work, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, environmental performance, and regulatory standards;Managing operational coordination between the various contractual packages (BOP, major equipment suppliers, electrical substation) to optimize interfaces and reduce risks of conflict or delay;Coordinating internal teams (engineering, procurement, legal, regulatory affairs, etc.) and external partners (contractors, consultants, local authorities);Participating in detailed project planning, keeping the schedule up to date, and ensuring key milestones are delivered;Leading and facilitating site meetings, producing progress reports, and proactively escalating critical issues;Developing and/or deploying management and control tools necessary for rigorous project governance;Monitoring construction budgets, approving payments, analyzing variances, and contributing to financial forecasts;Preparing, negotiating, and documenting contractual changes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders;Representing Boralex on site with stakeholders and helping maintain a climate of collaboration and transparency.
💡 To succeed in this position, you need:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering (or other relevant education);A minimum of ten years of relevant experience managing major projects (over $100M);Relevant experience in utility-scale solar facility or electrical infrastructure construction is a significant asset;Strong skills in planning, contract management, budget analysis, and risk management;Recognized leadership, rigor, initiative, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent critical thinking abilities;Excellent ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously;Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills;Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Project;A valid driver’s license
