About the Saint-André Wind Farm
Located in Saint-André-Favillers, the Saint-André wind farm consists of 5 turbines, each with a unit capacity of 11.5 MW. Commissioned in 2008, it generates an annual output equivalent to the consumption of 8,900* residents.
This project contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, with approximately 870* tonnes avoided each year, and plays a concrete role in advancing renewable energy development in France.
Students Explore the Saint-André Wind Farm
As part of the “Génération Transition” program, organized by France Renouvelables, students were welcomed to the Saint-André wind farm to gain hands-on insight into how a renewable electricity generation site operates.
An Immersion into the World of Wind Energy
During their visit, the students gained a better understanding of the role of wind energy in the energy transition, as well as the various stages of electricity production. This interactive session also gave them the opportunity to ask questions of the staff on site and deepen their knowledge of renewable energy.
Raising Awareness Among Future Generations
Through Génération Transition, young people are invited to explore the careers, technologies, and issues related to the energy transition. These events foster a better understanding of renewable energy and help raise awareness among tomorrow’s citizens about energy and climate challenges.
