Wind, hydroelectric, solar and thermal projects | Boralex

The Cham Longe wind farm consists of 14 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 18 MW. It is located in the department of Ardèche, in the communes of Saint-Étienne-de-Lugdarès and Astet. The wind farm was commissioned in 2010.

Located at 1497m above sea level, the wind turbines are exposed to extreme weather conditions. After 15 years of operation, Boralex considered the possibility of completely replacing the Cham Longe wind farm’s turbines to optimize and renew the machines’ life cycle in the form of a repowering.

Over the 2018-2020 period, the first 12 wind turbines will be completely dismantled, including foundations, and replaced by more efficient machines with state-of-the-art equipment that will allow them to fully operate under all circumstances. The provisional commissioning of the new Cham Longe wind farm is planned for 2020. Following the replacement of the first 12 wind turbines, the total power will increase to 35 MW.
