Project details
Chasse-Marée wind farm has been commissioned in 2010, it has been contributing to renewable energy production in the Vimeu Community of Communes for more than 15 years.
In anticipation of technical obsolescence, the wind farm is currently undergoing a renewal project aimed at modernizing the facilities with more efficient wind turbines that are better integrated into their surroundings. This project will increase renewable energy production while maintaining the current number of wind turbines at the site. We will therefore replace 4 wind turbines with 4 new ones.
The site selection for the Chasse-Marée wind farm renewal project takes into account numerous technical criteria, such as transportation routes and electrical, gas, and water infrastructure. Criteria related to biodiversity, landscape, heritage, aviation, and telecommunications are also considered. The wind farm renewal project complies with the regulatory distance of 500 meters from residential areas.
Boralex's first wind farm expansion in France and worldwide: discover the Cham Longe wind farm
Cham Longe is the highest wind farm in France (1,457 meters above sea level). Commissioned in 2005 along a ridge in the Montagne Ardéchoise, its spectacular setting exposes it to a harsh climate and strong winds. In 2020, Boralex decided to optimize the wind farm by dismantling 12 of its 14 turbines and replacing them with an equal number of turbines better suited to the site’s environment.
This project marks Boralex’s first wind farm retrofit in France—and worldwide! Watch the video to learn more.
