Moose Lake

Boralex is developing, with Aeolis Wind Power Corporation, the Moose Lake Wind Project under BC Hydro’s Standing Offer Program. The Project completed an environmental impact assessment under the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations’ (MFLNRO) Development Plan process, and received a General Area Licence of Occupation in September 2014. The Project subsequently received an Electricity Purchase Agreement from BC Hydro in December 2015.

The Moose Lake Wind Project is a 15 MW project, and will include four wind turbine generators, access road, collector line, and substation. The Project will interconnect to the BC Hydro grid at the Meikle Terminal Station (MKT).

The Project is located on Crown land approximately 24 km northwest of Tumbler Ridge, BC, off highway 29. 

Development milestones

  • March 4, 2014: Submitted Development Plan to MFLNRO
  • September 18, 2014: Received General Area Licence of Occupation, at the end of the Development Plan review
  • February 10, 2015: Received Occupant Licence to Cut
  • December 21, 2015: Received Electricity Purchase Agreement from BC Hydro
