Glens Falls Dam

Public Notice:

Water to be Temporarily Drawn Down for Dam Maintenance

UPDATE: Water levels will be returning to normal elevation (269’) beginning Monday, October 17, 2022.

Please exercise extreme caution while recreating near the river.

From May 2022:

This summer, Boralex Hydro Operations will need to temporarily lower water levels on the Hudson River upstream of the Glens Falls/South Glens Falls Route 9 bridge.

Routine dam maintenance will require reducing water levels of up to eight feet below the normal operating range. The drawdown is necessary to access the project work site.

Boralex is dedicated to completing this work as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize any impact on recreational users.

This project has been reviewed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, US Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and New York State Historic Preservation Office.

Work is expected to continue throughout the summer. We will be updating information at this website throughout the project. Please contact melissa.mansfield@boralex.com if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Erik Bergman
