Wind, hydroelectric, solar and thermal projects | Boralex

In response to the Government of Ontario’s initiative to promote the development of renewable energy in the province, Boralex developed the Port Ryerse Wind Farm Project, located on privately-owned lands east of the hamlet of Port Ryerse in Norfolk County, Ontario.

The project was awarded a Feed-in-Tarriff (FIT) contract with the IESO. Pursuant to the Act and Regulation, the wind farm is considered to be a Class 4 Wind Energy Facility.

Commissioned in December 2016, ​the 10 MW project includes four Siemens SWT 3.0 113 wind turbines. Basic components include step-up transformers located adjacent to the base of each turbine, an underground collector system, a distribution substation, a meteorological tower and turbine access roads.
