Montagne d’Aureille

Located in the department of Hautes-Alpes, France, on the communes of Haute-Beaume and Montbrand, the Montagne d’Aureille wind farm project is a part of regional development. Currently the site could accommodate 6 wind turbines. According to the geographical configuration and wind levels, the selected wind turbines have a potential installed capacity of between 2 and 3 MW.

Development milestones

  • 2008: Reflection on wind power with the communes
  • 2012: Launch of environmental impact assessments
  • 2012-2013: Agreement on assessment of a wind farm project with the Haute-Beaume and Montbrand communes.

  • 2014 : Impact assessment on all aspects (such as environment, scenery, acoustics, access…), working sessions with government services, one Wind Energy Journal, two meetings of the monitoring committee, three duty periods at city halls, one public meeting.
  • 2015 : Finalizing of the impact assessment, one Wind Energy Journal, one meeting of the monitoring committee, working sessions with government services, and filing of authorization requests (construction permits, clearing and ICPE)
  • 2016 : Review of authorization requests (in progress)
