Julie Cusson

Senior Vice President, Synergies and Special Projects

Julie Cusson is Senior Vice President, Synergies and Special Projects at Boralex, a position created in January 2024.

With more than 20 years of experience in the energy, natural resources and manufacturing sectors, Julie Cusson joined Boralex in 2016 as Director, Public Affairs and Communications, and then served as Vice President, Public and Corporate Affairs from September 2019 to October 2022. She then became Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), position was created in November 2022 to focus on risk exposure in the changing and increasingly complex energy environment.

Her background as an economist as well as her varied professional and personal interests, including leadership development, CSR and sustainable development, have led her to conduct several cross-functional projects including, most recently, the internal deployment of Boralex’s Strategic Plan. Over the course of her career, and particularly at Boralex, Julie has built world-class public affairs and communications teams that stand out for their strategic acumen, their ability to generate growth for the organization and their emphasis on developing meaningful partnerships with all stakeholders.

A committed leader, she has been involved in several organizations since the beginning of her career. In line with her intention to take personal action to promote greater inclusion and diversity in society, Julie Cusson is currently co-leader of the promotion of Indigenous culture at Boralex and sits on the Mères avec pouvoir organization. Well-known and appreciated in the business community, she is also Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) and chairs the advisory committee of the Chair in Energy Sector Management at HEC Montréal.
