Port Ryerse

In response to the Government of Ontario’s initiative to promote the development of renewable energy in the province, Boralex developed the Port Ryerse Wind Farm Project, located on privately-owned lands east of the hamlet of Port Ryerse in Norfolk County, Ontario.

The project was awarded a Feed-in-Tarriff (FIT) contract with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). Pursuant to the Act and Regulation, the wind farm is considered to be a Class 4 Wind Energy Facility.

Commissioned in December 2016, ​the 10 MW project includes four Siemens SWT 3.0 113 wind turbines. Basic components include step-up transformers located adjacent to the base of each turbine, an underground collector system, a distribution substation, a meteorological tower and turbine access roads.
