Social Commitment

Sustainable development is central to our corporate mission and defines our relations with all our stakeholders.

Boralex believes that as a responsible citizen, it has a duty to ensure the well-being of its employees and to support the community. Its business culture is based on sound human resource practices and healthy relations with the communities where its facilities are located.

Our most valuable asset: our employees

Respect, entrepreneurship, innovation, communication and teamwork are the five values that are the pillars of Boralex's corporate philosophy.

In support of these values, Boralex has adopted transparent management policies that promote a culture of equity which transcends hierarchical structures. Its "open door" policy, among others, ensures honest and stimulating communication among employees.

Boralex's profit-sharing policy is concrete acknowledgement of the contribution employees make to its success. This policy encourages the culture of performance and teamwork that characterizes the organization.

Occupational health and safety: it's a matter of respect

Boralex has made a formal commitment to promote occupational health and safety. It has taken the steps necessary to ensure the workplace is productive and safe, and to protect the well-being of every member of the organization and related parties. It is a matter of respect.

Any sub-contractor who does work at a Boralex station must successfully complete a training course on Boralex's Occupational Health & Safety procedures and policies.

Working closely with the community

Just as it cares about the well-being of its employees, Boralex respects the people who live in the regions where it carries out its activities.

The cooperation between Boralex and the communities in which it operates starts with an open dialogue, active listening and close cooperation with elected officials and community figures, to ensure the harmonious development of the Corporation's operations.

Boralex also makes it a point of honour to support, through donations and sponsorships, the communities where its facilities are located. In addition to the environment, the preferred focus is local social and community development.
