Boralex is a power producer whose core business is dedicated to the development and the operation of renewable energy power stations.
Currently, the Corporation operates an asset base with an installed capacity of more than 650 MW in Canada, the Northeastern United States and France.
Boralex is also committed under power development projects, both independently and with Canadian and European partners, to add approximately 250 MW of power that will
be put in service by the end of 2015.
With more than 200 employees, Boralex is known for its diversified expertise and in-depth experience in four power generation types –
wind, hydroelectric, thermal and solar.
- Boralex currently operates approximately 460 MW wind power portfolio in Europe and Canada. In recent years, Boralex has become one of the most experienced wind power producers in France, where it currently generates near 235 MW of power. Boralex and its partner Gaz Métro recently commissioned the first phase of the Seigneurie de Beaupré Wind Farms, one of the largest wind farm across Canada.
- Boralex has almost 20 years of expertise as a hydroelectric power producer, owning and operating 136 MW of this type of energy over the U.S., Québec and British Columbia.
- Boralex owns and operates two thermal power stations, with a total installed capacity of 49 MW. One of them, with an installed capacity of 35 MW, is supplied with wood-residue, a method of producing renewable energy. Boralex also operates one natural gas cogeneration power station with a total installed capacity of 14 MW.
- Boralex also owns and operates a solar power facility with an installed capacity of 5 MW located in France.
Boralex’s shares and convertible debentures are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbols BLX and BLX.DB, respectively.
