Natural
gas is a fossil fuel that must be used in strict compliance with the environmental
standards enacted by the governments. Boralex owns two natural
gas-fired power stations: one in Kingsey
Falls, Québec, and the other one in Blendecques,
France. These two power stations use the cogeneration process in order to optimize
the use of this great natural resource.
We make sure that the thermal energy
is recovered to supply the surrounding industries with steam.
In this way, maximum energy efficiency
is obtained. In addition, the use of natural gas is a choice that is also justified
by the cleanliness of the resource,
in comparison with others that are widely used, such as coal. The development
of Boralex's natural gas-fired energy sector must be in line with its commitment
to respect the environment
in which it operates. This is why Boralex intends to comply with the environmental
laws and regulations. |
